University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Tennis Squad Returns to Action with Four Matches

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Tennis team travels to Winona, Minn. and Marshall, Minn. Friday, March 28 through Sunday, March 30 for four matches. On Friday, the Golden Eagles will face host Winona State University at 6:00 pm in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match. U of M, Crookston will face Bethany Lutheran College and Saint Mary’s University on Saturday in Winona. Both matches are of the non-conference variety and will start at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm respectively. The Golden Eagles will close out the weekend on Sunday when they travel to Marshall, Minn. to take on Southwest Minnesota State University in NSIC play starting at 2:00 pm.
U of M, Crookston has not competed since a 9-0 non-conference loss to the University of South Dakota back on February 24. They hold an overall record of 0-5 and NSIC record of 0-2. I am excited to start the matches up again after having about a month off. “It’s going to be tough competition again but I think we are improving everyday,” says Golden Eagle Head Coach Josh Lunak.
Winona State University has an overall record of 5-11 and NSIC record of 3-1 after a 5-4 loss to Upper Iowa University on March 21. Bethany Lutheran College has an overall record of 0-1 after an 8-1 loss to Hamline University on March 1. Saint Mary’s University has an overall record of 9-2 after defeating LeTourneau 6-3 and Louisiana College 9-0 on March 20 in Longview, Texas. Southwest Minnesota State University holds an overall record of 5-7 and NSIC record of 2-0 after defeating Minnesota State University Moorhead by a 6-3 score on March 20.
