UMC Baseball Team Travels to Wayne State College

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team travels to Wayne, Neb. to take on Wayne State College in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. Both doubleheaders will start at 12:00 pm.
The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-9 and NSIC record of 1-5 after dropping a doubleheader to Concordia-St. Paul on Thursday. They are led by Tyler Reiner (Jr, C, Sanborn, Minn.) who is hitting .343 (12 for 35), Shawn Motl (So, 3B/RHP, Staples, Minn.) who is hitting .324 (11 for 34) and Paul Krebs (Jr, RHP/C, Little Falls, Minn.) who is hitting .323 (10 for 31).
The Wildcats (ranked 28th in the latest NCAA Division II Poll) have an overall record of 18-6 and NSIC record of 4-2. They are led by Alex Koch who is hitting .421 (32 for 76) with 15 runs batted in (RBI). Marc Manganaro is hitting .402 (33 for 82) with seven homeruns and 34 RBI. Nick Schumacher is 5-1 with a 3.07 earned run average (ERA) and 44 strikeouts.
