(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Head Football Coach Shannon Stassen has announced the Golden Eagle Football schedule for the 2008 season. The Golden Eagles finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 2-8 while going 1-8 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

The Golden Eagles open the season on Saturday, August 30 in Marshall, Minn. Minnesota, Crookston will take on Southwest Minnesota State University in NSIC action. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles return to Ed Widseth Field on Saturday, September 6 to host Mayville State University at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference game. Crookston Community Appreciation Day will be held prior to the game at Ed Widseth Field. Augustana College comes to town on September 13 to open NSIC action at home. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. Minnesota, Crookston celebrates Homecoming on September 27 when MSU Moorhead comes to town for a 1:00 p.m. NSIC game.

The NSIC will take on a different look next season with the addition of St. Cloud State University, Augustana College, University of Minnesota, Duluth and MSU Mankato.
