North Dakota Offense Belts Out 37 Runs Against Golden Eagles

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Women’s Softball team returned to the field on April 10 to host the University of North Dakota (UND). The UND offense had a career day scoring 37 runs and hitting eight home runs in the 16-0, 21-5 sweep of Minnesota, Crookston.
Player Spotlight: Steph Thomas (Fr, P, St. Albert, Alberta) led the Golden Eagles offensively batting .667 (2-3) on the afternoon. Shawna Steinbrink (Jr, 3B, Crookston, Minn.) and Mallory Watson (Fr, C/OF, Calgary, Alberta) both hit .500 (2-4) in the double-header. Steinbrink scored once and drove in two of the Golden Eagles five total runs. Watson hit two doubles, drove in one run and finished with a slugging percentage of 1.000.
The Golden Eagles are 6-11 overall and 0-7 in NSIC play. Minnesota, Crookston travels to Bemidji State University on Tuesday, April 15 in a non-conference double-header. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
