Golden Eagle Softball Can’t Stop North Dakota Offense

(Grand Forks, N.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Women’s Softball team returned to the field on Wednesday, April 16 to play the University of North Dakota. The Fighting Sioux took both games of the double-header by scores of 8-1 and 8-0.
Player Spotlight: Sarena Diederichs (Fr, C, St. Cloud, Minn.) and Amy Burke (So, OF, Crookston, Minn.) led the Golden Eagles offensively going 2-5 (.400) at the plate. Steph Thomas (Fr, P, St. Albert, Alberta) threw an outstanding first game going six innings and striking out nine North Dakota hitters.
The Golden Eagles are 6-13 overall and 0-7 in NSIC play. Minnesota, Crookston hosts Bemidji State University on Thursday, April 17 in an NSIC double-header. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
