Golden Eagle Bats Continue to Slump Against Bemidji State University

(Crookston, Minn.)- Bemidji State University took advantage of the slumping Golden Eagle offense to take two NSIC games 8-0 and 11-1 at the UMC Softball Field on Thursday, April 17. Minnesota, Crookston could only tally three hits in the double-header and batted .091 as a team. The Beavers combined for 23 hits and batted .411 in the sweep.
Player Spotlight: Kayla Bowar (Fr, OF, Moorhead, Minn.), Lorelei McGee (Jr, OF, Moose Lake, Minn.) and Shawna Steinbrink (Jr, 3B, Crookston, Minn.) each batted .250 (1-4) on the afternoon to lead the Golden Eagles. Bowar and McGee each hit doubles with Steinbrink scoring on the McGee hit.
The Golden Eagles are 6-15 overall and 0-9 in NSIC play. Minnesota, Crookston travels to Bismarck, N.D. this weekend for the University of Mary Crossover. The team plays Southwest Minnesota State to open the crossover on Saturday, April 19 at noon.
