Golden Eagle Baseball Team Heads to Concordia-St. Paul for Final Road Games of the Season

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team travels to St. Paul, Minn. on Wednesday, April 23 for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm.

 

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-24 and 1-19 in the NSIC after being swept in a four game series at Winona State University. They are led by Jake Poehler (Fr, OF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) who is hitting .392 (31 for 79) in 26 games. He has five doubles, three triples, three homeruns, 16 runs scored and 17 runs batted in (RBI). Poehler has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games and had 14 game hitting streak that ended Sunday against Winona State. Adam Lee (Fr, IF, Halstad, Minn.) is hitting .371 (13 for 35) with four doubles. Tyler Reiner (Jr, C, Sanborn, Minn.) is hitting .312 (24 for 77) with 12 RBI.

 

Concordia-St. Paul has an overall record of 16-10 and NSIC record of 10-6 after splitting a doubleheader with Winona State University last Wednesday. They are led by Joe Abellera who is hitting .402 (37 for 92) with seven homeruns and 22 RBI.

 

The Golden Bears defeated U of M, Crookston by scores of 12-3 and 21-8 back on April 3.
