Golden Eagle Baseball Signs Chase Boen (Karlstad, Minn.) to an Institutional Letter of Intent

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Baseball program announced today the signing of Chase Boen from Karlstad, Minn., to an Institutional Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2009 season.
Boen is a 5’9, 155 lb, outfielder, from Tri-County High School of the Northwest Diamond (Baseball) and Six Star (Basketball) Conferences. He was named All-Northwest Diamond Conference in baseball as a junior and senior and lettered in baseball for the Northern Freeze as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Boen plays American Legion baseball for Stephen-Argyle. He was named All-Six Star Conference in Basketball and lettered as a sophomore, junior and senior.
“Chase has nice athletic ability and a passion for the game of baseball,” says U of M, Crookston Head Coach Chris Vito. “I like his approach to the game. Chase will give us more quality depth in the outfield and has the potential to develop into a solid player in our program. We are excited that he will be a Golden Eagle in the fall.”
Boen plans to major in Agricultural Business at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the son of Paul and Jackie Boen.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Golden Eagle Hockey is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
