Mark Olsonawski Scholarship Golf Tournament a Major Success for Golden Eagle Athletics

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston held its annual Mark Olsonawski Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Two Rivers Golf Course in Hallock, Minn. on June 26, 2008. All proceeds benefit an endowed football scholarship in honor of former Golden Eagle football player Mark Olsonawski. Olsonawski was a running back and team captain for the Golden Eagles and is a native of Hallock, Minn. 20 teams and 77 golfers participated in the 18-hole scramble.
Team Mike Olsonawski consisting of Olsonawski, Jeff Backous, Cameron Mortenson and Brady Swenson captured the Flight I Championship for the fourth straight year. The University of Minnesota, Crookston would like to thank tournament sponsors Marshall Bank of Hallock, Minn., food sponsors Crop Insurance Associates and Jerry and Carol Olsonawski, tournament directors Mike Olsonawski and Kelly Turgeon and the Two Rivers Golf Course for all of their help and support with the tournament.
