(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball program held its first ever team camp on Wednesday, July 9 at Lysaker Gymnasium on the U of M, Crookston Campus.

Five teams took part in the event with Red Lake Falls going undefeated with an overall record of 4-0. Thief River Falls finished with a record of 3-1. Crookston finished 2-2. Red Lake County Central and Stephen-Argyle finished the camp 1-3 and 0-4 respectively.

Golden Eagle Head Women’s Basketball Coach Mike Roysland was extremely pleased with everything. “We felt that the first team camp was a huge success,” said Roysland. “The girls got to play a lot of basketball in a very short period of time.”

The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball team will open the 2008-2009 season on Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5 when they hit the road for a pair of exhibition games against Division I opponents South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. and North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D. Both games are 7:00 pm tip-offs. The Golden Eagles will play their home opener on Saturday, November 15 when they host the University of Minnesota, Morris at Lysaker Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
