Golden Eagle Baseball Signs Devin Croal (Coon Rapids, Minn.) to an Institutional Letter of Intent

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Baseball program announced today the signing of Devin Croal from Coon Rapids, Minn., to an Institutional Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2009 season.

 

Croal is a 5’10”, 145 lb, middle infielder, from Coon Rapids High School of the Northwest Suburban Conference. He was named All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2007 and All-Conference in 2008. Croal was voted his team’s most valuable player this past season as Coon Rapids won the Minnesota State AAA High School Baseball Championship.

 

“We are elated to have Devin Croal join the University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball program, “ says Golden Eagle Head Coach Chris Vito. “He is an outstanding middle infielder who swings from the left side. Devin comes from high school and legion programs where high levels of success are expected. He had the opportunity to play for two tremendous coaches in Jerry Coe (high school) and Tom Yelle (legion). This will serve Devin well in his career as a Golden Eagle.”

 

Croal will major in Business at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the son of Cindy Bautch.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Golden Eagle Hockey is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).

 

All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
