(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) will host Crookston Community Appreciation Day on September 6th on the university campus. The Crookston community is invited to come out to Community Day from 11-1 p.m. before the UMC Football game at Ed Widseth Field. The UMC Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will have fun games and prizes for kids of all ages. UMC Teambackers will be hosting a tailgate and the band Four Wheel Drive will entertain tailgaters. Come out for food, games, prizes and Golden Eagle athletics.  

Golden Eagle Football opens their home season at Ed Widseth Field with kick-off at 1 p.m. against Mayville State University. Golden Eagle Soccer opens at the UMC Soccer Field at 2 p.m. against University of Wisconsin-Superior. The Golden Eagle Volleyball continues play in the Golden Eagle Invitational at 4 p.m. against the University of South Dakota.
