Registrations Still Being Accepted for NFL Youth Flag Football

(Crookston, Minn.)- Join the University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles and the National Football League (NFL) for the second annual NFL Youth Flag Football League starting Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Ed Widseth Field. The University of Minnesota, Crookston, Crookston Park and Recreation and NFL are teaming up to provide an outreach program for the area’s youth. The league is open to youth in grades three and four and will be coached by the U of M, Crookston Golden Eagle Football team. It’s not too late to sign-up for the league. You can either call 282-8423 to get on a team or just show-up at Ed Widseth Field Sunday at 1:00pm.
The NFL Youth Flag Football program at the U of M, Crookston will have eight to twelve teams. The league runs for eight weeks, and concludes with play-offs and a “Super Bowl” on October 26. All games will be played on Sundays beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will also be tailgates each week for the players and parents to eat at after their games.
Each player will receive their own official Youth NFL football jersey, NFL flags, a signed NFL Certificate of Excellence signed by the Commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell and a chance to win an official NFL football. Former U of M, Crookston standout football player and current Golden Eagle Football coach Justin Schreiber will assist with the league as well as others from the Golden Eagle Football staff.
