University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer Team to Open NSIC Play this Saturday & Sunday

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 when they play host to Upper Iowa University and Winona State University respectively. Both games will start at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
The Golden Eagles will look to get back on the winning track after a 7-0 non-conference loss to NSIC foe St. Cloud State University. U of M, Crookston holds an overall record of 1-3-1. They are led by Justine Jones (Jr, Mid/Fwd, Richland, Wash.) who has scored three goals for six points. Auralee Strege (Fr, Fwd/Mid, Forest Lake, Minn.) has scored one goal and added two assists for four points.

The Peacocks have an overall record of 2-3-1 after dropping a 3-2 non-conference match-up to Northwestern of Iowa on Saturday. Upper Iowa University is led by Amy Campbell who has scored four goals and added one assist for nine points and Jennifer Lee who has scored two goals and added one assist for five points.

The Warriors have an overall record of 4-1-0 after Friday’s 1-0 non-conference victory over NSIC foe Concordia-St. Paul. They are led by Lauren Sturdevant who has scored two goals and added one assist for five points and Amelia Kasten who has scored one goal and added two assists for four points.
