Upper Iowa University Downs Golden Eagles 3-1 in Women’s Soccer

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team scored the first goal of their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) opener on Saturday afternoon. However, Upper Iowa University scored the next three goals on their way to a 3-1 victory over the Golden Eagles today in Crookston, Minn.
Kelsey Palmer (So, Fwd, Crookston, Minn.) scored off an assist from Stephanie Lee (So, Def, Port Chester, N.Y.) at 14:40 to give U of M, Crookston a 1-0 lead.
The Peacocks got on the board at 16:58 off a goal from Allison Clark to tie the game at 1-1. Upper Iowa took a 2-1 lead at 41:01 when Amy Campbell scored. The Peacocks scored the game’s final goal at 49:02 when Jamie Kruse found the back of the net to win 3-1.
Upper Iowa University improves to 3-3-1 and 1-0-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-4-1 and 0-1-0 in the NSIC.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston will return to action on Sunday, September 21 when they play host to Winona State University in an NSIC contest at 1 p.m.
