(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football program has made a donation to the Crookston Ice Arena project. Ice Arena Advisory Committee Chair and Crookston Titan Machinery Store Manager Craig Morgan recently accepted the donation from Golden Eagle Head Football Coach Shannon Stassen and Golden Eagle Football player Enrique Julien (Sr, DL, Miami, Fla.) at Ed Widseth Field on the U of M, Crookston Campus. The Golden Eagles held a car wash back in August and raised $637 for the project.
“The Golden Eagle Football program is pleased to be able to contribute to this great community project,” says Coach Stassen. “The construction of such a tremendous facility in Crookston benefits the entire community and as a football program it helps sell the community in the recruiting process.”
“The Capital campaign committee would sincerely like to thank Coach Shannon Stassen, team member Enrique Julien and all of the UMC Golden Eagle Football team for their gift to the ‘Protecting the Legacy’ Arena project,” says Craig Morgan. “This is a great example of how the entire community is coming together for a common goal.”
Ground was broken on the $14.5 million dollar, 1,200 seat arena on September 25. It is set to open in 2010.
