Golden Eagle Women’s Soccer Team to Close Out Regular Season Saturday & Sunday

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team will close out the 2008 regular season on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2. The Golden Eagles travel to Minnesota State University, Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State University respectively. Both Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) games start at 1 p.m.
U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 3-14-1 and NSIC record of 2-9-0 after Sunday’s 4-0 shut-out victory over Wayne State College. The Golden Eagles are led by Justine Jones (Jr, Fwd/Mid, Richland, Wash.) who has scored eight goals and added two assists for 18 points. Kelsey Palmer (So, Fwd, Crookston, Minn.) has scored four goals and added one assist for nine points. Megan Gibeault (So, Fwd, Green Bay Wis.) has scored four goals for eight points.
Golden Eagles @ Minnesota State University, Mankato 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1
The Mavericks have an overall record of 10-3-1 and NSIC record of 8-2-1 after a 2-1 overtime victory over Upper Iowa University and a 2-1 loss to Winona State University this Saturday and Sunday respectively. Minnesota State University, Mankato is led by Laura Leber who has scored eight goals and added two assists for 18 points.
Golden Eagles @ Southwest Minnesota State University 1 p.m. Sunday, November 2
The Mustangs have an overall record of 1-14-0 and NSIC record of 1-10-0 after losing to Winona State University (2-0) and Upper Iowa University (4-1) this past Saturday and Sunday respectively. Southwest Minnesota State University is led by Kelly Fitzgerald who has three goals and one assist for seven points.
