U of M, Crookston’s Justine Jones Named NSIC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer player Justine Jones (Jr, Fwd/Mid, Richland, Wash.) has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Offensive Player of the Week.
Jones had an outstanding weekend recording seven points as the Golden Eagles went 1-1-0. On Saturday, she scored U of M, Crookston’s lone goal in a hard-fought 3-1 loss to Augustana College. On Sunday, Jones scored two goals, including the game’s first, and added an assist in a 4-0 victory over Wayne State College. She has scored eight goals and added two assists for 18 points this season.
Jones is a graduate of Richland High School and a transfer from Walla Walla Community College. She is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-14-1 and NSIC record of 2-9-0. They return to action on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2 when they travel to Minnesota State University, Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State University respectively. Both games start at 1 p.m.
