Minnesota State University, Mankato Downs Golden Eagles 7-0 in Women’s Soccer

(Crookston, Minn.)- Minnesota State University, Mankato scored five first-half goals and added two more in the second half on their way to a 7-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team today in Mankato, Minn.

 

Carly Petersen scored three goals for the Mavericks including back to back first half goals that were scored within 13 seconds of each other (22:38 & 22:51). Kelly Jauch, Jessie Audis and Tayler Vestal each scored a goal and added an assist for Minnesota State University, Mankato.

 

The 17th ranked Mavericks improve to 11-3-2 overall and 9-2-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 3-15-1 overall and 2-10-0 in the NSIC.

 

The University of Minnesota, Crookston closes out the 2008 season on Sunday, November 2 when they travel to Southwest Minnesota State University for an NSIC encounter. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
