Golden Eagles Men’s Hockey Team to Host MSOE in MCHA Opener

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team will host the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) opener for both teams on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 at the Crookston Civic Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles will be looking for their first victory after two hard-fought losses to Bethel University (2-1 & 4-2) last weekend. U of M, Crookston is led by Nigel Smith (Fr, Fwd, White Rock, British Columbia) (0 goals – 2 assists – 2 points). Jonathan Frank (Fr, Def, Wallingford, Conn.) (1 goal – 0 assists – 1 point), Martin Husicka (So, Fwd, Vsetin, Czech Republic) (1 goal – 0 assists – 1 point), Derek Ricke (Fr, Def, Park Rapids, Minn.) (1 goal – 0 assists – 1 point), Parker Harrison (Fr, Fwd, Waxahachie, Texas) (0 goals – 1 assist – 1 point) and Brent Swanson (Jr, Fwd, Mason City, Iowa) (0 goals – 1 assist – 1 point) each have one point.

The Raiders have a record of 1-1-0 after splitting a pair of non-conference games with Lake Forest College. They defeated the Foresters 2-1 on Friday and lost 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. They are led by Steve Smiddy who has scored one goal and added two assists for three points.
