(Crookston, Minn.) – The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) scored three straight goals after falling behind 1-0 and held on for a 3-2 victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Conference Action (MCHA) today in Crookston, Minn.
The Golden Eagles continued last night’s momentum by scoring the first goal of the game when Jonathan Frank (Fr, Def, Wallingford, Conn.) scored a power play goal at 8:21 of the first period. He was assisted by Nick Sylvester (So, Def, Crookston, Minn.) and Martin Husicka (So, Fwd, Vsetin, Czech Republic).
MSOE answered at 9:00 of the first period when Michael Johnson scored an even-strength goal. He was assisted by Michael Soik and Stephen Smiddy. The Raiders continued their scoring with an even-strength goal by Kyle Smith at 3:55 of the second period. He was assisted by Simon Labrosse-Gelinas and Todd Krupa. MSOE pushed the margin to two goals at 11:27 of the second period when Brock King scored a power play goal. He was assisted by Michael Siergiej and Smiddy.
U of M, Crookston cut the deficit to a goal at 10:22 when Parker Harrison (Sr, Fwd, Waxahachie, Texas) found the back of the net with a power play goal. He was assisted by Husicka.
Despite a late rally, the Golden Eagles were unable to score and the Raiders held on for the 3-2 victory.
U of M, Crookston’s Bryan Dalbec (Fr, G, Superior, Wis.) stopped 37 MSOE shots. MSOE’s Conner Toomey had 24 saves.
MSOE improves to 2-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the MCHA. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the MCHA.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston returns to action on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 when they play host to Marian College in a pair of MCHA games at the Crookston Civic Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
