(St. Paul, Minn.)- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced today the 2008 Volleyball All-Conference team, as voted on by the league coaches. University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) sophomore, middle hitter Amber Meyer (OH, 6-2, SO, Paxton, Neb.) earned recognition for her play as a member of the NSIC All-Conference Honorable Mention team. Meyer has played in all 93 sets of the 2008 season. She leads the team with 301 kills (6th in NSIC) and is averaging 3.24 kills/set. She was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and the KROX Athlete of the Week on October 20, 2008. She recorded a new career high of 21 kills on October 31, 2008 against the University of Mary. Meyer ranks second on the team in total blocks with 45 (8 solo / 37 assisted). Amber is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management at U of M, Crookston. She is the daughter of Martin and Deb Meyer of Paxton, Neb.
