(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer Coach Chris Przemieniecki has announced his resignation effective at the end of fall semester. The veteran Golden Eagle mentor has accepted a teaching position as an assistant professor in Criminal Justice at Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) in Blue Bell, Penn. located 30 miles west of Philadelphia.
MCCC serves over 12,000 students. Its criminal justice department, along with fire science and emergency management, is one of the largest enrolled degree programs. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Przemieniecki will be involved in the Criminal Justice Regional Center of Excellence. He will also have the opportunity to work with local and state police agencies, prison officials, the district attorney’s office and federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and others. The position with MCCC will allow Przemieniecki to continue his research on street gangs as he finishes his Ph. D. from the University of North Dakota.
Przemieniecki leaves as the University of Minnesota, Crookston’s all-time winningest women’s soccer coach with 28 wins. He produced 12 NSIC All-Conference players, two All-Region selections, four NSIC Player of the Week selections and dozens of NSIC Academic Award winners. Two of his players were selected to play professional soccer (one in the United States and one in Switzerland). His 2003, 2004 and 2005 teams qualified for the NSIC Tournament.
“When I started eight years ago, I had many goals,” says Przemieniecki. “One was turning this program into a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) contender. UMC soccer has proven that it can compete with the best and stay competitive for 90 minutes. In looking back, we did accomplish quite a lot from wins, record breaking seasons and individual awards. But my measure of success goes beyond the wins and losses and I am most proud of all those players that have played for me, believed in me and found a way to make a tremendous impact not just on the field but off the field. I have been coaching collegiate soccer for 18 years and UMC Soccer has been a big part of my life but it is time to make a change. This is a great move for me and my family both professionally and personally. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life. I wish Steph Helgeson, the Golden Eagle Soccer team, and the UMC athletes and coaches all the best.”

The search for a new women’s soccer coach will begin immediately.
