Golden Eagle Hockey Team Returns Home to Face Northland College

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team returns home to face Northland College in a pair of Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) games on Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively at the Crookston Civic Arena. It will be the second to last home series of the season for the Golden Eagles.
U of M, Crookston will look to crack back into the win column after a pair of non-conference losses at UW-Stevens Point (13-1) and UW-Eau Claire (5-1) last weekend.
The Golden Eagles hold an overall record of 1-14-0 and MCHA record of 1-9-0. They are led by Brent Swanson (Jr, Fwd, Mason City, Iowa) who has scored four goals and added eight assists for 12 points. Jonathan Frank (Fr, Def, Wallingford, Conn.) has scored four goals and five assists for nine points. Bryan Dalbec (Fr, G, Superior, Wis.) has a 4.77 goals against average and a .888 saves percentage.

The Lumberjacks have an overall record of 1-11-0 and MCHA record of 1-7-0 after dropping a 6-2 non-conference decision at the College of St. Scholastica on January 3. They are led by Jeff Diehl who has scored four goals and added four assists for eight points. Kyle Smythe has scored four goals and added two assists for six points while Jake Carlson has scored two goals and added four assists for six points. Daniel McIntosh has a 5.79 goals against average and a .876 saves percentage.
