#24 Megan Eul

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball player Megan Eul (F, 5-11, FR, Rosemount, Minn.) has been recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as the top free-throw shooter in Division II Women’s Basketball in games through January 4, 2009. She was 25-25 when the rankings last came out on December 14 and is currently 32-33 (97%) in games through January 4. Eul’s perfect streak was snapped on January 3 when she went 0-1 from the line against Southwest Minnesota State in the Golden Eagle’s 76-73 victory over the Mustangs. As a team, the Golden Eagles rank 15th in the nation with a 76.7 free-throw percentage. To be ranked in individual categories, a basketball student-athlete must appear in at least 75.0% of the team's games played. Eul has played in all 12 games this season and started four. She ranks third on the team in points per game (8.2) and blocked shots (6). She is second on the team in total rebounds (56) and leads the Golden Eagles in offensive rebounds (27). Eul was a two-time All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention player at Rosemount High School. She holds the school record for points in a season (506) and is a 1,000+ career point scorer. Eul was named to the Academic All-State basketball team, was in the top five percent of her class and a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. She is undeclared on a major at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. Megan is the daughter of Craig and Liz Eul of Rosemount, Minn.
