Eighth Ranked Bulldogs Overwhelm Golden Eagles 13-1

(Crookston, Minn.) – Adrian College showed why they are the eighth ranked team in the latest United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III Men’s Hockey poll. The Bulldogs blew open a 6-0 game with seven third period goals on their way to a 13-1 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston Friday night in Adrian, Mich.
Nine different players scored goals for Adrian College. Joel Workman, Mike Gertsakis, Shawn Skelly and Kyle Frieday each scored two goals for the Bulldogs. Skelly also added three assists. Mike Leone and Mike Dahlinger each scored a goal and added three assists. Bobby Hineman added three assists.
The Golden Eagles scored their lone goal at 15:27 of the third period when Chase Haubursin (Fr, Fwd, Santa Rosa, Cal.) found the back of the net off assists from Steve Tschirgi (Fr, Def, Neenah, Wis.) and Matthew Justice ( So, Fwd, Parker, Colo.).
Adrian College improves to 14-1-1 overall and 11-0-0 in the MCHA. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 3-15-0 overall and 3-10-0 in the MCHA. The two teams will return to action on Saturday, January 17 at 3:00 pm (EST).
