Golden Eagle Hockey Squad Closes Out Regular Season

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team closes out the regular season on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14 when they travel to Ashland, Wis. for a Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) series with Northland College. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively. U of M, Crookston defeated the Lumberjacks by 4-2 and 9-3 scores back on January 9 and 10.
The Golden Eagles will look to close out the regular season on a high note after dropping a pair of MCHA games at Finlandia University last weekend by scores of 7-1 and 6-1. U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 3-20-0 and MCHA record of 3-15-0. They currently stand in seventh place in the league. They are led by Matt Marchel (Jr, Def, Grand Forks, N.D.) who has scored seven goals and added eight assists for 15 points. Brent Swanson (Jr, Fwd, Mason City, Iowa) has scored four goals and added eight assists for 12 points. Bryan Dalbec (Fr, G, Superior, Wis.) has a 5.07 goals against average and a .877 saves percentage.

The Lumberjacks have an overall record of 1-21-1 and MCHA record of 1-16-1 after dropping two MCHA games to Lawrence University by scores of 3-0 and 4-0 this past weekend. They are led by Jeff Diehl who has scored six goals and added four assists for ten points. Matt McKinlay has scored two goals and added seven assists for nine points. Daniel McIntosh has a 5.12 goals against average and a .895 saves percentage.
