(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Western Women’s Equestrian team travels to Fargo, N.D. for a show at North Dakota State University on Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15. Saturday’s competition will start at 1 p.m. while Sunday’s will begin at 9 a.m.
The Golden Eagles look to build on the momentum gained at their successful home show this past weekend. U of M, Crookston has had six individuals qualify for the Regional Competition in River Falls, Wis. on March 1. They are Sarah Nowacki (Jr, Stephen, Minn.), Becky Rhodus (So, Kansas City, Missouri), Lindy Hausauer (Sr, Moorhead, Minn.), Kayla Klein (So, Hazen, N.D.), Mary Hurley (So, Grand Meadow, Minn.) and Amanda Peterson (Jr, Rochester, Minn.).
“I am hoping we will continue our momentum into the final weekend of regular season shows,” says Golden Eagle Equestrian Coach Nicky Overgaard. “We have several riders that are a few points away from qualifying for the regional show. In addition, we need to remain extremely competitive to hold our lead for the Regional High Point Team award. If we can maintain the lead, our team will advance to the National Semi-Finals competition in Findlay, Ohio on March 28-29.”
