Huskies Sweep Golden Eagles by 11-4 & 14-2 Scores

(Crookston, Minn.) – St. Cloud State University used timely hitting and solid pitching to sweep the University of Minnesota, Crookston in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action on Saturday in Freeman, S.D. The Huskies took game one 11-4 and captured the nightcap 14-2.
Game One Recap
Sam Radbill was three for four with two RBI and a solo homerun for St. Cloud State in the 11-4 victory. Joey Benke was three for three with three RBI and a two-run homer. Lauren Green was two for three with two RBI and a two-run homer for the Huskies. Tim Scott threw five innings scattering seven hits and allowing three runs to gain the win. He struck out four. Paul Krebs (Sr, OF/RHP, Little Falls, Minn.) was two for four with two RBI for the Golden Eagles. Casey Woodside (Fr, C, Albert Lea, Minn.) was two for four with one RBI. Jake Poehler (So, OF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) added three hits for U of M, Crookston.
Game Two Recap
The Huskies scored in every inning on their way to the 14-2 win. Benke was three for four with a solo homerun. Radbill added a solo homerun while Mic Johnson added a two-run homer. Pat DeLaHunt threw five innings allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four to get the win. Krebs hit a two-run homer for the Golden Eagles.
St. Cloud State University improves to 22-5 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 3-15 overall and 1-3 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, March 24 when they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D.for a non-conference doubleheader with NSIC foe Augustana College. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
