Golden Eagle Softball Travels to Augustana and Wayne State This Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Softball team heads to Sioux Falls, S.D. and Wayne, Neb. this weekend to open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play. The Golden Eagles take on the Vikings of Augustana College on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. The team then travels to Wayne State College and plays the Wildcats on Sunday, March 29 at noon. Both days are scheduled as double-headers. The Golden Eagles are led by Amy Burke (Jr., CF, Crookston, Minn.) who is batting .348 (8-23) through eight games this season. She has one double, driven in three runs, scored two runs and has a slugging percentage of .391. Defensively, she had six put-outs in center field for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at the University of West Florida Spring Fling. The Golden Eagles travel to Valley City State University on Wednesday, April 1 to play the Vikings. First pitch of the double-header is scheduled for 3 p.m. UMC opens its home season Saturday, April 4 and Sunday April 5 when they host Concordia- St. Paul and St. Cloud State.
