(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team returns to action this weekend when they travel to Fayette, Iowa for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheaders on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-19 and NSIC record of 1-7 after dropping four games at Winona State University last weekend. U of M, Crookston is led by Jake Poehler (So, OF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) who is hitting .365 (23 for 63) with 10 RBI. Kayle Lewellen (Sr, IF, Forest Lake, Minn.) is hitting .333 (23 for 69) with nine RBI. Devin Croal (Fr, IF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) is hitting .329 (27 for 82) with 8 RBI. Paul Krebs (Sr, RHP/OF, Little Falls, Minn.) is 2-2 on the mound with a 4.43 ERA and 25 strikeouts.

Coach Mark Danker’s Peacock’s have an overall record of 5-14 and NSIC record of 0-4 going into today’s non-conference doubleheader at Quincy University of Illinois. They dropped a non-conference game to the University of Iowa by an 11-8 score on Tuesday and dropped four NSIC games at Minnesota State University, Mankato last weekend. Tom Longoni is hitting .431 (28 for 65) with 14 RBI. Seth Fox is hitting .365 (23 for 63) with 12 RBI. Lucas Wilsing is 1-2 with a 3.79 ERA and 12 strikeouts.
