(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team will hit the road again on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11 for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheaders in Marshall, Minn. against Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU). First-pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-25 and NSIC record of 1-13 after dropping a pair of league games to the University of Mary on Tuesday in Sidney, Mont. The Marauders took game one 19-4 and the nightcap 11-4. U of M, Crookston is led by Jake Poehler (So, OF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) who is hitting .345 (29 for 84) with 12 RBI. Devin Croal (Fr, IF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) is hitting .340 (34 for 100) with 11 RBI. Casey Woodside (Fr, C, Albert Lea, Minn.) is hitting .319 (23 for 72) with 18 RBI. Paul Krebs (Sr, RHP/OF, Little Falls, Minn.) is 2-3 on the mound with a 4.81 ERA and 29 strikeouts.

Coach Paul Blanchard’s Mustangs have an overall record of 11-2 and NSIC record of 1-1 after splitting a doubleheader with Minnesota State University, Mankato last Friday. They host Bemidji State University in a league doubleheader on Wednesday. SMSU is lead by Doug Stearns who is hitting .542 (13 for 24) with 14 RBI. Matt Bauer is hitting .500 (23 for 46) with 18 RBI. Derek West is also hitting .500 (19 for 38) with 17 RBI. Adam Schrader is 2-1 with a 1.72 ERA and 18 strikeouts.

Note – The University of Minnesota, Crookston’s non-conference game against Concordia-Moorhead scheduled for Monday, April 13 in Moorhead, Minn. has been cancelled. The Cobbers are backed up with league games due to the flooding in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
