U of M, Crookston Women’s Tennis Team Braces for Four Matches this Week

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Tennis team gets ready for a busy week as they play their final four matches of the regular season.

The Golden Eagles will host the University of Minnesota Morris on Monday, April 13 in a non-conference match at Center Court Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. It will be a make-up of the March 10 and March 31 match that was postponed due to bad weather and will also be the final home match of the 2009 season.

On Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, U of M, Crookston will travel to St. Cloud, Minn. for three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches against Southwest Minnesota State University, Winona State University and St. Cloud State University. The matches will begin at 4 p.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 0-8 and NSIC record of 0-8 and have not played since a 9-0 loss to Minnesota State University, Mankato on April 4.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Minnesota Morris    12 p.m.        Monday, April 13

The Cougars have an overall and Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) record of 0-5 after dropping a 9-0 decision to Northwestern College on April 9.

Golden Eagles vs. Southwest Minnesota State        4 p.m.            Friday, April 17

The Mustangs have an overall record of 3-12 and NSIC record of 2-6 after defeating Bemidji State University 5-4 on April 11.

Golden Eagles vs. Winona State                1 p.m.            Saturday, April 18

The Warriors have an overall record of 7-8 and NSIC record of 5-1 after defeating the University of Minnesota Duluth 6-3 on April 6.

Golden Eagles @ St. Cloud State                4 p.m.            Saturday, April 18

The Huskies have an overall record of 18-8 and NSIC record of 10-1 after defeating Michigan Tech in a non-conference match on April 7.
