(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s volleyball coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Amanda Swann to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2009.
 
Swann is a 6-0, outside hitter from Rochester High School in the Oakland Athletic Association. She was a four year varsity starter, a 2007 and 2008 team captain and team MVP. Swann was named to the All-District team from 2006-2008 and the All-Region team in 2007 and 2008. She was a four year member of the Oakland Athletic Association team and a four year scholar athlete.
 
"Amanda is a strong, athletic volleyball player with a lot of great high school and club experience.  Her ability to hit a heavy ball from the outside is something that we need,” comments Coach Anderson.  “Amanda will provide a lot of competition at the outside hitting position and has the ability to have an impact early in her career.  We are definitely excited that Amanda decided to become a member of the Golden Eagle Volleyball family."
 
Swann plans to major in pre-physical therapy at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Adele and Steve Swann.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Golden Eagle Hockey is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
 
All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
