(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s basketball coach Mike Roysland announced today the signing of Brittani Wiese to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2008-09 season.

Wiese is a 5-7, guard from St. Michael-Albertville High School in the Mississippi 8 Conference. She was a four-year All-Conference selection and a three-year team captain and team MVP. Wiese was named to the All-State team and the State All-Tournament team in 2009. She is a Breakdown Book Top 40 Senior and was recognized as a G-Prep Top 20 player in the State. Wiese closed out her high school career as the third leading scorer in St. Michael-Albertville history.

“Brittani is a very hard-nosed player that has a great feel for the game.  Her mid-range game and her ability to attack the rim will contribute to her being an immediate impact player for the Golden Eagles,” comments Coach Roysland. “She has already shown that she has the speed and work ethic to be a great defender.  She comes from a very successful basketball program at St. Michael-Albertville that just recently won the Minnesota AAA State Championship this spring.”

Wiese is undeclared on a major at U of M, Crookston. She is the daughter of Ken and Lori Wiese.
