Laurie Tyson (Rosemount, Minn.) Signs with Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s basketball coach Mike Roysland announced today the signing of Laurie Tyson to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2008-09 season.
 
Tyson is a 6-1, center from Rosemount High School in the Lake Conference. She was named a team captain and a team MVP for her senior season. Tyson was recognized as an All-Conference and All-Tournament team member and a McDonald’s Athlete of the Week.
 
“Laurie is a great addition to our program. She will bring instant support to the post position which will give us flexibility both offensively and defensively,” says Roysland.  “In addition to her strong post play, Laurie runs the floor well and is a great rebounder.”
 
Tyson is undeclared on a major at U of M, Crookston. She is the daughter of Mark and Jan Tyson.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Golden Eagle Hockey is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
