Golden Eagle Softball Signs Stacey Marcum (Merrill, Wis.) to a National Letter of Intent

 (Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s softball coach Mitch Bakken announced today the signing of Stacey Marcum from Merrill, Wis. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2009-10 season. Marcum is a 5-7, pitcher from Merrill High School in the Great Northern Conference. She was named a team captain for her senior season. Marcum plays for the Ms. Jays club team in the summer and was named a team captain. “Stacey brings another strong arm to the Golden Eagle Softball program. She has great control (59 K’s, 9 BB’s) and brings a competitive attitude,” comments Coach Bakken. “Stacey also brings a solid bat to the lineup. She is a left-handed hitter who batted .333 last season with 21 RBI. I look forward to working with Stacey as a Golden Eagle next season.” Marcum is undeclared on a major at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Kathy and Chet Marcum. Golden Eagle Hockey is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
