(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Softball team hosts MSU Moorhead on Thursday, April 23 at the UMC Softball Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Golden Eagles travel to Northern State and Mary on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 for conference double-headers. Minnesota, Crookston closes out the 2009 season at home with games on Monday, April 27 against Minnesota Duluth and Tuesday, April 28 against Bemidji State. Game time is set for 2 p.m. on the Monday and 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Kayla Bowar (So., SS, Moorhead, Minn.) had a career weekend over four games against Southwest Minnesota State and Minnesota State. Bowar rocketed out of the batter’s box hitting an outstanding .571 (8-14) with one double, one RBI, a slugging percentage of .643 while only striking out two times. At shortstop, Bowar continues to be a solid defender. She had five put-outs, 16 assists and a fielding percentage of .875. Amy Burke (Jr., CF, Crookston, Minn.) followed Bowar with a .357 (5-14) batting average with two runs scored.
