(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball program held its 2nd Annual Women’s Basketball Shooting and Scoring Camp on June 9-11 in Lysaker Gymnasium on the UMC campus. Girls in grades 3-12 learned ball handling, shooting drills, and skills they can use to improve their basketball ability. Instructors included former U of M Gopher Women's Basketball player Leslie Knight, former University of North Dakota Women's Basketball player Ashley Langen, and U of M, Crookston Golden Eagles' guard Jamie Zelinsky. “The campers had the opportunity to learn from some very talented and skilled basketball players,” commented Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball Coach Mike Roysland. “It was another great camp with great participants. The campers came and practiced and played with so much enthusiasm. They showed how much desire they have to improve their basketball skills.” The campers will be able to see their Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball team in action on Friday, November 20. UMC opens the home basketball season at 6 p.m. against the Mayville State Comets in a non-conference game at Lysaker Gymnasium.
