CROOKSTON, Minn. (June 5, 2007) – It’s time for the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) to heat up the summer with annual golf tournaments starting June 14.  Everyone is invited to help the UMC Teambackers, UMC Women’s Golf and the Mark Olsonawski Endowment Scholarship golf tournaments that are being held around the area, in partnership with UMC Athletic Fundraising. 

Four area tournaments are as follows:
•    Ada, Minn. (RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER):
            Thursday, July 12 UMC Teambacker/Heart of the Valley
            five person scramble, $40 entry fee, 11:00 a.m. pre-tourney brunch and 
            registration, 1:00 p.m. tee time, no registration deadline
•    Hallock, Minn., on Thursday, June 28 Mark Olsonawski Endowed Scholarship
            four person scramble, $30 entry fee, 10:00 a.m. registration, 11:00 a.m. tee

time, no registration deadline
•    Crookston, Minn., on Saturday, July 21 UMC Teambacker Golf Classic
            five person scramble, $80 entry fee, 10 a.m. registration, 11 a.m. tee time,
     registration deadline July 13
•    Crookston, Minn.: Tuesday, August 14 UMC Women’s Scramble
            four women per team, $30 entry fee, appetizers and registration at 12 p.m., 1 p.m. tee time, 9 holes, no registration deadline
