The University of Minnesota, Crookston Athletic Department will be raising money to help former Golden Eagle Volleyball coach Dave Simon. Simon, now an assistant coach at Winona State University, recently lost his home due to the heavy rains and flooding that took place in southern Minnesota.

Fortunately, Dave, his wife Cathy and son Gregory were uninjured but lost everything other than a piano and couch that were still in the moving van. Dave is a Crookston native and graduated from Crookston High School.

Free-will donations will be taken for Dave and his family at the University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team’s home opener against Chadron State on Thursday, August 30 at 5:00 pm. There will also be a donation taken at the Crookston High School Football home opener against Thief River Falls on Friday, August 31 at 7:00 pm.
