The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team dropped a tight game to Dordt College of Iowa on Friday by a score of 1-0 in the first game of the U of M, Crookston/Subway Classic. The loss puts the Golden Eagles’ record at 0-3-0.

U of M, Crookston battled tough in the first half holding Dordt scoreless. However, the visitors scored 9:34 into the second half with an unassisted goal from Sarah Sikkema (Jr., Fwd., Ridgetown, Ont.).

Athena Mussenden (So., GK., Kenosha, Wis.) had three saves on four shots for the Golden Eagles. U of M, Crookston will return to action on Sunday when they play host to Presentation College of South Dakota in the final game of the tournament. Game time is 1:00 pm.
