Golden Eagle Women’s Soccer Team Defeats Dakota Wesleyan 3-0

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team took a 1-0 halftime lead on Saturday afternoon and went on to defeat Dakota Wesleyan by a score of 3-0. The game was played in Mitchell, S.D.

 

Megan Hannon (So., Mid./Def., Green Bay, Wis.) started things off when she scored her first goal of the season at 31:15. Stephanie Lee (Fr., Mid., Port Chester, N.Y.) added the assist. Megan Gibeault (Fr., Fwd./Mid., Green Bay, Wis.) put U of M, Crookston back on the board at 71:45 with her third goal of the season. She scored off a corner kick from Kiely Bladow (Sr., Def./Mid., Monument, Colo.). Kelsey Palmer (Fr., Mid./Fwd., Crookston, Minn.) closed out the scoring at 81:00 with her fourth goal of the year. She was assisted by Vanessa Copiak (Jr., Fwd., Calgary, Alb.). Athena Mussenden (So., GK., Kenosha, Wis.) recorded the shutout.

 

The Golden Eagles will return to action on Saturday, September 15 when they travel to Bemidji State University for a non-conference contest with the Beavers.
