Errors Prove Costly for Golden Eagle Volleyball

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Volleyball team took flight tonight in Lysaker Gymnasium against the Dragons of Minnesota State University, Moorhead. The Dragon’s took charge winning the first two games with scores of 30-22, and 30-21. In the third game, the Golden Eagles committed 12 attack errors giving the Dragon’s easy scores and a 30-16 victory to take the match 3-0.
Heather Foreman (Jr. OH, Brandon, Manitoba) led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills, one service ace and eight digs. Katie Bonine (Fr., OH, Cottage Grove, Minn.) tallied eight kills, one service ace and led the Golden Eagles with 17 digs on the night.
For the Dragons, Laura Tvrdik led the team with 11 kills. She recorded a .450 attack percentage, one solo block and six assisted blocks. Setter Julie Vancura added two kills, two aces, nine digs, two block assists and assisted on 38 Dragon kills.
The Golden Eagles move to 2-9on the season and 0-3 in NSIC play. The Dragons improve to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in NSIC play. The Golden Eagles return to the court to face-off against #3 Concordia- St. Paul tomorrow at Lysaker Gymnasium. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
