Golden Eagle Women’s Soccer Team Defeated by Northern State by a Score of 7-1

(Crookston, Minn.) – The Northern State University Women’s Soccer team scored four first half goals and added three more in the second half as they defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston by a score of 7-1 in non-conference action today.
Maggie Fedor (Fr., Fwd., Monticello, Minn.) led the Wolves with two goals and one assist. KaSara Sutton (Fr., Mid., Aberdeen, S.D.) added two goals as well. Dee Wood (Fr., GK., Bothell, Wash.) stopped three Golden Eagle shots as NSU improved their record to 6-3-1 on the season.
U of M, Crookston’s goal came at 81:36 of the game when Samantha Welch (Fr., Def., Arlington, Wash.) scored off an assist from Vanessa Copiak (Jr., Fwd., Calgary, Alberta, Canada). The Golden Eagles are 2-7-0 on the season.
U of M, Crookston returns to action on Sunday, September 23 when they host the University of Mary at 1:00 pm in a non-conference game.
