(St. Paul, Minn.)- The Golden Eagle Women’s Volleyball team traveled to St. Paul, Minn. this evening to take on the #4 ranked Concordia- St. Paul at the Gangelhoff Center. The Golden Bears flexed their muscles and showed their offensive firepower in a 3-0 (14-30, 17-30, 11-30) victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
The Golden Bears as a team had a match attack percentage of .456 to UMC’s .043 attack percentage. Concordia- St. Paul’s Maria Steinhagen led all attackers with 13 kills (.647 attack percentage). Theresa Crance (Sr., MH, Timber Lake, S.D.) led the Golden Eagles with nine kills (.364 attack percentage). Offensively, the Golden Bears added 15 service aces in the match. CSP as a team also added 16 assisted blocks in the victory.
The Golden Eagles are now 4-14 overall on the season and 2-6 in the NSIC. Concordia- St. Paul improves to 18-2 on the season and 8-1 in conference play. UMC returns home to Lysaker Gymnasium this weekend for homecoming. The team hosts Wayne State College on Friday, October 5 and SW Minnesota State on Saturday, October 6. Game times are set for 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. respectively.
