U of M, Crookston Women’s Soccer Team Hosts Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia-St. Paul This Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team hosts two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches this Saturday and Sunday when Minnesota State University-Moorhead (Saturday) and Concordia-St. Paul (Sunday) come to town. Both games are 1:00 pm starts and coincide with U of M, Crookston’s Homecoming and Soccer Parents’ Weekend.
The Golden Eagles come off a wild weekend in which they played two double overtime games in successive days. On Saturday, Southwest Minnesota State University scored with four seconds left in the second overtime to defeat U of M, Crookston 4-3. On Sunday, it was the Golden Eagles’ turn as Vanessa Copiak (Jr., Fwd., Calgary, Alberta, Canada) scored 4:35 into the second overtime to lift U of M, Crookston to their first NSIC victory of the season by a score of 4-3.
U of M, Crookston is led by Kelsey Palmer (Fr., Fwd.,/Mid., Crookston, Minn.) who has fourteen points (six goals/two assists). Copiak has eleven points (three goals/five assists). Kiely Bladow (Sr., Def./Mid., Monument, Colo.) rounds out the leaders with ten points (one goal/eight assists). She is the school’s all-time leader in assists with twelve. The Golden Eagles are 3-9-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in the NSIC.
Minnesota State University Moorhead has a record of 6-6-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in the NSIC. They are led by Tricia Vanyo (Fr., Mid., Moorhead, Minn.) and her thirteen points (five goals/three assists). Concordia-St. Paul has a record of 2-8-2 on the season and 0-1-0 in the NSIC. They are led by Hillary Johnson (Sr., Fwd., Andover, Minn.) and her seven points (three goals/one assist).
