Concordia-St. Paul Shuts Down Golden Eagles Women’s Soccer Team by a 5-0 Score

(Crookston, Minn.) – Coming off one of their biggest victories of the season, the University of Minnesota, Crookston could not match the results of a day earlier as Concordia-St. Paul blanked the Golden Eagles 5-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play today in Crookston, Minn. The Golden Bears led 4-0 at the half.
Concordia-St. Paul wasted little time as Sara Sather (Fr., Def./Mid., Anoka, Minn.) scored just 5:12 into the contest to give them a 1-0 lead. From there on out, it was the Hillary Johnson (Sr., Fwd., Andover, Minn.) show as she scored the next four goals including an unassisted goal and one off a penalty kick. Hannah Turgerson (Jr., GK, Shoreview, Minn.) recorded the shut out stopping eleven Golden Eagle shots.
The loss drops U of M, Crookston’s record to 4-10-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Bears improve to 3-9-2 overall and 1-2-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles will return to action next Sunday when they play host to Bemidji State University in and NSIC match. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
