University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian Team Hosts IHSA Competition This Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian team will host an International Horse Show Association (IHSA) competition this Saturday and Sunday at the University Teaching and Outreach Center (UTOC) on the U of M, Crookston campus. Saturday’s events will get underway at 1:00 pm while Sunday’s will start at 9:00 am.
A total of thirteen teams and close to 150 riders will participate in the two day competition which includes over 200 competitive rides. In addition to the host Golden Eagles riders from the following schools will also take part.

U of M, Crookston Hunt Equestrian Coach Brooke Marcus is looking forward to this weekend’s events. “I am excited to have the University of Minnesota, Crookston host the IHSA competition this weekend,” says Coach Marcus. She will be looking for consistent rides from Jenae Hanson (So., Andover, Minn.) in Walk-Trot-Canter and Emilee Clark (Sr., Fort Branch, Ind.) in Intermediate Flat. Walk-Trot rider Andrea Reed (Sr., Williston, N.D.) is a strong rider who should develop greatly as a competitor over the next year. Novice Jumping riders Chrissy Radintz (So., Maple Grove, Minn.), Nicole Veres (So., Random Lake, Wis.) and Amanda Peterson (So., Rochester, Minn.) as well as Open rider Laura Critchett (Fr., Shoreview, Minn.) have been practicing very well and Coach Marcus expects big things out of them this weekend.
