Golden Eagle Women’s Soccer Team Closes Out Season with Tough 2-0 Loss

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team knew that it had a challenge ahead of it when they took on Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) leader Winona State University today. Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles came up just short losing 2-0 despite a valiant effort.
Leyla Castillo (Fr., GK, Miami, Fla.) was strong in net but gave up two goals to Holly Sutton at 22:27 and 43:49 respectively. Annie Lauterer assisted on both goals while Kallie Tellefsen and Kayla Walters assisted on the first and second goals respectively. Amanda Diehm posted the shut out for the Warriors.
Winona State University improves their record to 16-3-0 and 8-1-0 in the NSIC. They will start the NSIC playoffs this coming week. U of M, Crookston ends their season with a record of 5-15-0 and 2-7-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles will also bid farewell to Kiely Bladow (Sr., Def./Mid., Monument, Colo.) who leaves U of M, Crookston as the all time leader in assists (17), single season assists (13) and assists in a game (5). Baldow also ranks second in games played and games started with 75.
